In 2003, results from 450 Sheboygan County families showed that despite over 400 families with developmentally disabled members being fully served, there were still a large number of families who were not accessing services or were being underserved in the area of respite.
HearthStone has identified respite care for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families as one of its primary objectives.
HearthStone has collaborated with the Family Resource Center of Sheboygan County and the Sheboygan County Department of Health and Human Services to provide a respite cost reimbursement program for families with developmentally disabled members. The goal of this program is to positively support your family by helping to provide a much-needed break.
Contact the Family Resource Center to apply. An interview is completed over the phone or at one of the FRC sites. At that time eligibility is determined. When your family qualifies for respite reimbursement through the application process, you are given or mailed a packet of information.
This is a reimbursement program, not direct service.
