Training for New Tutors:
Our next training session will take place May 20 & May 26, 2009. Prior to training, we will provide a New Tutor Orientation on May 13, 2009.
The training sessions will give new tutors an overview of what they need to know to get started tutoring an adult learner. The sessions include a discussion of learning styles, lesson planning, cultural diversity, and reading instruction basics. The orientation session will provide new tutors with information on the Family Resource Center, our One-on-One Adult Tutoring program philosophy, and the responsibilities of tutors and students.
