The Family Resource Center provides programs for all ages and interests to strengthen families and individuals. The programs are presented, coordinated, sponsored, or assisted by The Family Resource Center in collaboration with school districts, churches, and various community agencies and organizations.
Once Upon a Potty

Parenting Terrific Toddlers
Two-part class, appropriate for parents of children ages 18 months to about 3 years of age. Learn what's great about your toddler!

1-2-3 Magic
Communication as simple as 1-2-3 Magic? Join other parents in viewing and learning from this two-part, video-based workshop. Boys, Boys, Boys
Parents and other caregivers learn about the structure of a boy's brain and how to relate to him on a positive level. For parents of boys birth to age 5.
Baby Sign & Say
Have fun learning basic sign language to use with your hearing infant and/or toddler. Children will spend the first 20 minutes in childcare, then will join parent/caregiver in class, so all can practice signs together.
Love and Logic for Parents of Elementary Schoolers
Learn how to save your sanity when parenting seems overwhelming. Parents will learn skills to encourage respectful and responsible behavior. There is hope for even challenging and angry teens! This 4-week series is facilitated by Deb Gentine. There is a $15 fee per family to cover the cost of materials and scholarships are available. Healthy Relationships What's your personality type? How well do you communicate? Where do you want to be in 5 years? If you are enrolled in Parents As Teachers and you are an unmarried, expectant couple or you are an unmarried couple with an infant under 4 months of age, this is an awesome opportunity to boost your relationship intelligence! Every Person Influences Children (EPIC)
For parents with children ages 4-12 years. This class focuses on setting limits, and on understanding rewards and punishments.
Thriving with Your Spirited Child
Do you know a child who just has "more" intensity, sensitivity, activity or persistence than other children? Learn how understanding a "Spirited Child's" temperament can help you and them thrive! Share coping skills and strategies. This two-part class is facilitated by Jane Jensen, Family Living Educator, Sheboygan County UW-Extension.
Meet Us At . . . Series
Join FRC staff members to explore various places of interest throughout Sheboygan County each summer. Meet at the specified location, sign in and pay any registration fees at that time. Open Gym
This is your opportunity for a morning of fun with your young child! Event happens 3 times a year, locations are various school gyms around the county. Click on the link for details. Appropriate for children birth to age 5.
Winter Wonderland
Fun family event held each year, usually in late November or early December. One low admission fee for the family entitles you to a professional holiday photo, music, stories, and crafts for the children. Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Plymouth Arts Center, 520 E. Mill Street, Plymouth. Choose one session: 5:00-6:00pm OR 6:30-7:30pm. Fee is $7/family plus a new or gently used stuffed animal (Santa shares them with his Senior Citizen friends who live alone, on Christmas morning). Fee includes one photo setting with a professional photographer; photo will be mailed to your home. Additional photo settings are $6 each. Registration is required; call 920-892-6706 to register.
Kids Nutrition Corner
Parents and children age 2 to 5 years learn basic nutrition and have fun making snacks to enjoy at the FRC, or take home. Each class has a title and theme that relate to the season of the year. All classes 6:30-7:30pm. Registration is required. Due to space constraints, we cannot accomodate unregistered adults or children. Upcoming dates: September 23, October 21, November 20, December 11. PAT Summer Picnic
All Parents As Teachers families - current and graduates - are invited to our annual summer picnic. Great food, new and old friends, wonderful children - what more could you ask for on a summer evening?
Teaching Kids to be Safe in Sports Keith Kesick, martial arts instructor and proud parent, leads this class for parents and kids, which will teach safety techniques to keep us safe while doing martial arts or any other type of sport. YOu don't want to miss this! Ages 4 and up, with a parent or other adult caregiver. Tuesday, November 11 at Plymouth Alliance Church, Plymouth, 6:30pm. Call 920-892-6706 to register.
FRC Play Groups
General Play Group - every Thursday, 9:30-11:30am at the FRC-Sheboygan; every Friday, 9:30-11:30am at both Sheboygan sites. Unstructured playgroup for children birth to 5 years, accompanied by an adult. Play together, clean up together.
Spanish Play Group - Held 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of each month at FRC-Sheboygan, 4:30-6:30pm; if you're planning to attend and know you won't arrive by 5pm, please call and let us know - 920-457-1888. Facilitated by bi-lingual Parent Educator Naxhielly Escobar, this group is for Spanish-speaking families and those who want to expose their children to another language.
Teen Parent & Child Playgroup - Teen parents and their children will gather each Wednesday afternoon 1:30-3:00pm, which is early release day in Sheboygan County High Schools. A Parent Educator will be available to answer questions as parents and children play together in our spacious FRC-Sheboygan children's room. Special activities are planned for the third Wednesday of the month, and on those afternoons snacks and childcare will be provided. Spanish for Preschoolers
Introducing a foreign language at an early age is a great way to enhance learning and have some fun with your little señoritas and señores. Join bi-lingual Parent Educator Naxhielly Escobar for this parent and child interactive class series. Ages 3-5 with any adult caregiver. Mondays, December 1, 8, 15, 2008, 6-7pm at the FRC-Sheboygan. Registration is required; there is no childcare available for younger children during this class.
Programs are held at The Family Resource Centers and other Sheboygan County sites. The full schedule is listed in the Calendar; parents, foster-parents, and grandparents interested in participating in any of the programs can call The Family Resource Center at 920.892.6706. Scholarships are available for all classes, and free on-site child-care is also available during most programs.
