Training for New Tutors

Tutor Training sessions give new volunteers an overview of what they need to know to get started tutoring an adult learner. The sessions include a discussion of learning styles, lesson planning, cultural diversity, and reading instruction basics. All training and instructional materials are provided by the Literacy Council.

In addition to the Training Sessions, we offer Tutor Informational & Orientation sessions to give prospective tutors information on the Literacy Council and the Family Resource Center, our One-on-One Adult Tutoring program philosophy, and the responsibilities of tutors and students. Not sure if tutoring is for you? Attend an Orientation Session to learn more!

Please call 920-457-1888 or email frcliteracy@excel.net for information about our programs and the dates of our next training and informational sessions.
